they may have a good education but often are not all that intelligent. most are educated beyond their intelligence. Those in the military generally are far more intelligent than the civilian population. But then 30% of the civilians fail to finish high school. And even the college grads are often over weight, fat slobs with no survival skills.

And one can take their military skills into the private sector. Look at how the contractors now run the government (most government workers are contractors and run most of the agencies). Military folks can make $100,000 or more as a contractor.
