Why are people complaining then? Gas prices are still cheap, cheap, cheap. Maybe not for the poor sucker who commutes 50 miles each way to work. But, they deserve their outcome. Very darwinian.

I'm simply aware of the difficulties of obtaining the actual idenbreasty of individuals. No one bothers unless it's a case of a federal offense, since it takes a lot of time and money to actual get to that information, not to mention the lengths these administrators go through to guard that information. How do I know? I used to be a sysadmin intern, and I also have colleagues who are, and they are virtually all like minded in guarding privacy.
Too bad educational insbreastutions are too liberal to allow anyone to get into that information and accomodate that request. My ISP is also EXTREMELY into guarding personal information. Also, I may or may not be the user actually listed on the service. Also, I use proxies to hide my location, so a high level of indirection is required to find me. Lawyers really believe they can find out information on anyone. Enjoy your search!
You'd be the first...like I said, good luck with that. Can't bet, because that would mean that you'd have my information. But, enjoy your fruitless venture. I would love to see your expression when everyone laughs hysterically when you or someone else asks for information about someone who's done nothing but act gleeful about $5-gas and created a hypothetical situation involving tenured instructors.
