Actually, I perform quite well. And since I have a Ph. D., if I migrate to the K-12 level, I'll be much more qualified than the other folks. Plus, teaching at the college level is superior. They'll actually fire someone to put me in their place.
5gal is making me gleeful 2678Yeah, they have good health care courtesy of the American economy that incentivizes mbuttive medical research by allowing it to be profitable. That is, new drugs are extremely profitable in this country, with...
Uh, no one wants to take it now. But, when they want to, they'll be shut out, because they have no experience teaching. Whereas I'll have years and years. My investment will have paid off. Plus, summers off...ah...it is the life! I spent it in Europe for 3 months! May do it again next year.
Good for them...I wonder why they're still starving for teachers, when its purportedly superior than government schools? Oh, and when families are forced to get two incomes because one spouse receives their pay cut due to the recession, who will be able to afford to home school? Guess they'll come begging to the teachers, just like they do to this day. Signing bonuses already exist for K-12 in "disadvantaged" areas. Do you actually think this is going to end? Politics gets in the way of truly privatizing the school system, and Bush's "No Child Left Behind" is making children even dumber as they leave school. They'll need a lot of catching up in college...that's where I come in.
I do take my job seriously, and I enjoy all the challenges and perks that go along with it. I live an austere lifestyle, so the pay is just perfect for me (and my girlfriend thinks likewise :) ). I'm about as insulated as one can get for the price hikes. Europe gets by just fine on $7+-gal equivalent. We will as well, with some major suffering for the 100 mile commuting sucker. All things work themselves out.
