tunisiaJust got back from Tunisia, while I didn't drive I was on the road in coaches and 4x4s for a good 2000...
I couldn't believe what they did, they tested ESP on ice, in a Jag IIRC. The test results were completely made up though. Without ESP, Tiff steers harder (looked like full lock), and doesn't try controlling the skid until the car is completely sideways. With ESP he steers lightly, and then steers into the skid almost as soon as it starts. Of course it's gonna skid less. Of course, the wheels were only what I could see, how do I know he didn't have his foot down without ESP too? What is the point in testing things when you don't even try to make it a fair test?
Before that he tested the traction control on ice up hill. Without traction control he floors it so that the wheels just spin. After a while he decides to try slowly with the clutch and it doesn't grip. He then takes a run at it, and spins the wheels as soon as he hits the ice. Then with traction control, he takes a run at it, and just manages to maintain a constant speed up it. If he took a run at it without traction control and didn't try spinning the wheels there would be a chance of him getting further. What idiot would try going up an icy hill by flooring it?
They also went to France and went on the motorway which cost £4 for 50 miles. Apparently you don't get tailgaters or middle lane hoggers over there, is this true? If so why can't the idiots in this country do the same?
