A note about all the polluting 4x4 drivers... 1279

they were saying :

That mind of yours really IS closed, isn't it?

That, in general, 4x4s-SUVs are larger, heavier, and far less efficient than the equivalent "normal car"; that they don't actually do anything better than the equivalent "normal car" with the exception of a very small set of circumstances that are irrelevant to 90%+ of their purchasers; that the reasons claimed in their defence are spurious; and that their defenders have closed minds.

is the above likely to damage the tyres in any way ? flat spots ? delamination ? some twunt failed to properly observe when joining a 60mph road and pulled out...

I'd say I've proved those fairly conclusively.

I personally don't have a problem if you choose to drive a large SUV, even if the furthest it ever goes off-road is one wheel on the kerb on some

You must die a fiery rest
buttuming the one flash is not from a Landrover driven by a complete nutter:- I watched in my mirrors as a white Landrover...

But at least try and be honest with yourself. You drive one because you want to, despite all the tangible reasons not to.

I just hope that the local Discovery Club don't get in our way at Langdale again, when I'm up there in a couple of weeks.

60mph to 0 in a mbuttive cloud of smoke
During my time in the police I underwent an accident investigation course. One way to work out how fast a car was going prior to an accident is to...

I'll be towing my 650cc 4x4 250 miles each way behind a two litre FWD hatchback. When we get there, we'll have a laugh on the "Club Xtreme" course again. The lads up there are used to us now - they know we won't cause the "real" 4x4s any problems, because we never get "properly" stuck. Only time they've used the 'mog to get one of us out was with a broken crank - and it was still drivable.

Mind you, the lads with the TD5 110 that'd been stuck overnight were a bit peeed off when we got straight through that stretch of mud. I wouldn't fancy sleeping out there in February.
