Went to the local dump today to get rid of some old packaging, you know the rubbish created by visits to Ikea etc. Our dump trys to encourage people to sort out there rubbish so you recycle as much as you can. IE seperate the cardboard out and just dump what cant be recycled into the compactor. They have seperate skips for grbutt, wood, mdf, chipboard, paper, metal..... and the list goes on.
Saw a couple of 4x4's there and a couple of what the anti's would say are proper cars.
Both the 4x4 drivers were splitting there rubbish into the proper skips, walking quite a distance back and forth to do said task.
Both the normal saloon car drivers just pulled up against the compactor and chucked in what they wanted with no worries, Cardboard, wood, metal, glbutt. I went up to one of the drivers of the saloons as I disposed of what I had in the compactor and pbutted a comment about 4x4's been big etc. She replied, "yeah, they ought to ban them from the roads." I asked why, she replied "cos they polute so much and damage the enviroment" She says they whilst off loading a boot full of cardboard, paper, glbutt and garden rubbish into the compactor that goes straight to the landfill.
So, anyone that wants to bash 4x4's or MPV's or any other car that isnt flavour of the month for whatever reason, You had better be hollier than God yourself before critisising others!!
