Thanks for letting us know the type of officer you was. I was stopped by an officer for doing 95 in a 50 limit a few years ago. The officer asked me what speed I thought I was doing and I said 95mph. He asked me what the limit was and #I said 50mph. He asked me why I was going so fast, so I told him I was late picking someone up at the airport.
He said he would have booked me if it hadn't been 3am, but as the road was empty and conditions were good, he considered a stop and chat to be sufficient. To this day I agree with him because I never did drive that fast on that road ever again. It was yet another good example of an officer with safety in mind using his judgment. My respect from a previous stop was confirmed (I wonder if these examples of good policing was one reason going to the IAM?)
Contrast that with 58 in a 50 just yards away from an NSL sign at 1am. Rightly or wrongly, I feel aggrieved by that and have lost interest in starting a course with RoADA, that I had already booked.
