Used by the general public only on certain days when the gates are open. Similar to the scenario...

Is the "private" track generally accessable and used by the general public?

I buttume the police did not turn up?

From procedure point of view, you best option is to report (as I think you have done) the incident to your insurance company, you can do this as "information only". That way you keep your options open, if he decides to claim against you. If a claim is made, you have two choices, the insurance route or the non-insurnce route. If you go the insurance route, then it becomes the decision of the insurance companies to resolve the claim. If you go the non-insurance route (buttuming you contest), then the other driver will have to sue you in the county court. The outcome would depend on the evidence, your photos and the statement from the witness. The pbuttengers in his and your car are not witnesses, so its down to the statement from the person in the car behind.

It is important to know whether the track is a genuine private track or merely a public track that is owned privately (track is accessable and used by members of the public).

If it is a private track, then your insurance might not cover you. But if it is private, you have no requirement to have insurance or to give the other driver your correct name etc.

If the track is public accessable, then you could make a complaint of inconsiderate-careless-dangerous driving to the police against the other driver. This would be recorded and may help you later, as you can say that his driving was bad and you have made a formal complaint etc.
