American Hiroshima 4780DTJ, let me ask you something. If a foreign power invaded and conquered the US, for whatever reason, either to subjugate us, or to promote regime change and bring us...

I was chatting recently with a distinguished poli sci prof. There was a time during the Clinton administration when he and a bunch of other reputable academics pebreastioned to stop the sanctions against Iraq. The Clinton presidency consisted of Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea. Do you want me to repeat that? Does anyone remember the Drudge report about the riots that happened after Clinton's meeting with Arafat because Chelsea acted like a spoiled prima donna during the meetings?
History could have been changed with a more mature Iraq policy. Instead, the U.S. continued its pattern of sticking unqualified childbrains into employment positions of grave responsibility. Now we presume nuclear terror is imminent. It may be, as anti-terrorism is racism and anti-male loveism.
After (and if) any initial detonations occur, the only thing that policy makers will care about is the detonation of EMP's that can disable electonic infrastructure and if *too many* nuclear or thermonuclear plants are detonated. The human race survived the 25 year atmospheric testing period from 1951-1976 that spewed 428 megatons of radioactive fallout. That is the equivalent of 17.2 megatons per year, or 331 kilotons per week. This means that a few 10 kiloton terror plants are very unlikely to contagion the world with any appreciable radiation. It might give fascist governments an excuse to kill a few million more people here-and-there, but there will still be many millions or billions left.
When all the speculation happened a few years ago about a potential nuclear exchange between India and Pakistan, the estimates were only about 10 plants and 3 million dead.
If the plants are detonated in cities I don't see how this would affect food supplies very much except in the immediate areas. Of course it would affect hoarding elsewhere.
