Same on the East Coast. We are all getting f***ed by the oil companies. The question is how long are we just going to keep dropping trou and spread 'em for the oil companies?
I *think* it was $4.00, but it doesn't matter, aslong as the oil executives are running the government like they have been since atleast 1980 (when king george the first was VP).
Most economists I have heard say that gas would have to reach $3.00-gal to be equivalent to the cost of gas during the oil shocks of the 1970's
Because nobody is demanding that they do so - yet. Have you gone to the dealer and told them you want an alcohol fueled vehicle? Or tried to get your local gearhead to modify a car to run on alcohol for you?
Also, how do you get the energy to distill the alcohol? However, I do see your point. The grain for the alcohol can be grown here in the US as opposed to importing oil from those arab buttholes who use the money to learn how to fly planes into our buildings. BTW, industrial hemp oil can also be a viable alternative - in diesel engines - if it wasn't illegal to grow here.
Blocking police carsA police car was coming down the pbutting lane at high-speed, with lights and siren...
Doesn't have to be generated by oil. There's always solar, wind, hydro etc... that have not been fully researched and developed.
True, right now you are putting more energy in than you get out, but that's another thing that should be researched to see if it can be made viable.
A finite supply, just like oil. Simply delaying the inevitable.
