I must have missed that statement or implication. No, I don't "target" anyone, but occasionally find myself in sync with another driver. Sorry for any confusion.
Very. Even more so if they have dropped to more-or-less your speed only just behind, alongside, or just in front, as you approach the rear of some slow-moving vehicle. I've found there is no point even trying to gain eye-contact, or wave, or signal at them to indicate your feelings at having been boxed in - they are the most "asleep" drivers on the road.
All I can think is that they, subconsciously or otherwise, are truly "targetting" other vehicles. While you were in front, you were the target. Once you had been hauled in, they are now without a target and end up driving alongside you until another target presents itself.
A good game - overtake a MLOC from L1 to L3 and back again, as pointedly as you can while leaving safe distances. Watch some (a very few) then pull in behind you... and pull out again a few seconds later. Wtf is that about ?
Annoyances! 5247can Why so? Why does their constant pace make it easy? Do you mean from a perspective...
MLOC drivers travel in convoys. Speed is pretty much irrelevant. Do you ever, in L1, approach a small queue of them behind a slower-moving vehicle also in L2 overtaking (HGV a good example), with L3 empty ? They won't move out, so you swing out to L3, maintaining a steady speed, and as you begin to pbutt, the vehicle at the front pulls back into L1. Now they all start to accelerate in unison, faster and faster until you find you are being undertaken. (Or you can put your foot down - I've seen 90+ on my speedo from a previous 75 getting round these clowns.) They can't have been going that fast beforehand or you'd never have caught them up, so what gives ? They must also be the same drivers who will join an virtually empty motorway straight into L2, or (better yet) a 2-lane dual carriageway in the outside lane, and sit there forever.
Nothing really surprises me, any more.
