If the sloth hadn't been slothing then these accidents wouldn't have occurred. The question is: should the Sloth take partial responsibility for these accidents?

This temporal relationship isn't enough to say "yes" : everybody involved in an accident would not have been if they hadn't gotten out of bed in the morning, but we would not say that they should have stayed in bed.

As an analogy: if you walk up to a member of a motorcycle gang and say you shagged their mother, you will probably get badly buttaulted. Whose fault is this? Legally the gang member gets an buttault charge, but most people would agree that you were asking for it and it wasn't a safe or thoughtful course of action.

The fact is, many people become angry when others behave inconsiderately. Historically, it is an evolutionary advantage because the inconsiderate people get end by the angry people.

You can either try and deny this fact about human nature, or you can recognize that it exists, and try and teach people to not incite others to irrationality, by being considerate to other drivers, in this case, drivers behind them.
