Farthing says...
No, really? SO WHY THE f*** DID YOU POST A COMPLETELY IRRELEVENT FACT THEN?
OK...
I do 450 miles. It takes me QUITE A LONG TIME to get back that 5-6MPH when loaded. So say over that 450 miles I lose 15 minutes.
I HAVE A RESTRICTED AMOUNT OF TIME I CAN DRIVE IN A DAY. I cannot exceed it by one minute. 450 miles during the day will take me right up to the limit. The extra delay you're wanting me to do will result in me not getting back, not making a delivery and having to find somewhere suitable to park because I know I can't make it which may be an hour away from where I would run out of time. This then has a knock on effect for the rest of the week because I've got one hour less I can drive the following day so as well as having to complete Mondays job on Tuesday, I cannot now do the jobs I did have on Tuesday because I've been robbed of roughly 1-4 of my working day because of the delay the day before.
