Anyone else catch the Mythbusters cell phone driving episode 1826

Really? I watched this specific episode twice, and I didn't catch that particular part. What I did see . . . Adam and Kari drank 1 beer each. As I recall, they then blew rather low readings on the breathalyzer (.038 and .027?, or something like that). So then they were jokingly asking the cops for another beer. It would seem that they only drank two beers, or maybe less. It wasn't really clear how many beers they drank. On the second breathalyzer test (both drivers still blew below .08), Kari was encouraged to finish a beer she had started earlier. (was that beer number 2, or number 4?) Eventually, Kari got a .075 and Adam got .07. They clearly showed these readings on the breathalyzer. There was no doubt what their BAC levels were at that point. And AT THAT POINT, they were celebrating (cartwheels, etc.) that they were ready to perform the driving test. JUST BEFORE THE DRIVING TEST, there was a brief (flashback, maybe?) of one of them taking a breathalyzer and scoring .065. I wasn't sure whether this was a flashback of an earlier test, or maybe a REPEAT test, right before they hopped in the car to start driving.

Actually, the mythbusters claimed that the drivers failed the test at .07 and .075. So they...

You are simply missing the big picture here. I'm not claiming any correlation nor any causation. I'm just pointing out that there are a couple things we know... 1 - the accident rates have...

Anyway, I would be surprised to hear that Adam admitted to .13 before he climbed behind the wheel. Earlier in the test, it was clearly stated that the test would be cancelled if they hit .08. The test was not cancelled, so I think it's safe to buttume that neither driver was legally drunk. And all the breathalyzer readings did indicate that neither driver was legally drunk. -Dave

I don't know. For the most part, the tests they come up with are pretty good in the sense that any serious scientist could repeat the experiment under more "controlled" circumstances and most likely get...
