You are simply missing the big picture here. I'm not claiming any correlation nor any causation. I'm just pointing out that there are a couple things we know...

1 - the accident rates have been on a slow steady long term decline 2 - aside from cell phone use there hasn't been any big bugaboos put forth as reasons for people to get all worked up over safety-wise. 3 - Since there has NOT been any major deviation in the long term safety trend then 4 - it's pretty clear nothing of significance has happened that has any significant effect on safety, therefore 5 - the "sky is falling, lets ban cell phone use" group has ZERO REAL WORLD support for their chicken little pronouncements based on bogus and nonsensical "research".

What's most likely the truth here is that like MANY distracting things people do in their cars, cell phone use will OCCASIONALLY be distracting at a time that leads to accidents. But no more or less so then any of the other distractions, that's why there's no discernable change in the accident rate trend line. If there were any real basis to worry about cell phones then we should be EQUALLY worried about, and also BAN all the other distracting things people do. If we ban cell phone use we should ban eating while driving, putting your makeup on, changing the CD in the player, trying to quiet the child in the back seat, and on and on.'

I don't know. For the most part, the tests they come up with are pretty good in the sense that any serious scientist could...

It seems that anymore there is nothing too trivial to use as an excuse to get all worked up over and pbutt another stupid feel good law to be used to harbutt the citizenry.

Yeah and it could have gone up to for some reason. If you are going to unpleasant woman about me not supporting my claims then support your own. Post the data that shows how it would have gone down quicker...

The statement

Nice attempt to build a strawman but I never made that statement. In fact, I said the opposite.
