The Court of Appeal has overturned the sentence of an uninsured hit and run driver on the grounds that it was too lenient.

A hit-and-run driver who end a student at a pelican crossing while speeding has had his jail term doubled.
Abigail Craen, 20, of Liss, Hampshire, died the day after she was run over by Jaswinder Singh, 45, in Pershore Road, Birmingham in October last year.
Singh, of Ward End, Birmingham, was jailed for 18 months after admitting dangerous driving and other offences.
But three Appeal Court judges ruled it was "unduly lenient" before increasing his jail term to three years.
Singh, who gave himself up to police seven days after the collision, had also earlier admitted failing to stop after an accident, failing to report an accident and driving without insurance.
As well as the jail term he had been banned from driving for four years at the initial sentencing at Birmingham Crown Court in April. That ban was increased to 10 years.
Susan Craen, Abigail's mother, had previously said the initial sentence was "an insult" to her daughter.
She said on Wednesday: "It's a relief that it has been taken seriously, and this was the best we could have hoped for although it doesn't in any way reflect our loss.
"We are very relieved that the ban has been increased to 10 years which, in a way, has always been more critical to us than the prison sentence.
"But I still feel very strongly that anyone involved in a hit-and-run accident - lethal or otherwise - should automatically and immediately have their licence removed for life."
