Are cyclists allowed to race on public roads 816

I would regularly cycle about fifteen miles each way to mine. That can be a bit of a struggle in bad wether or with a fair amount of shopping, or with a few little children an dthe wife.

That sounds like the sort of ideal that I have often espoused. Removing all vestiges of differentiation between road and pavement, and removing white lines (and yellow) from the roads in town centres seems a good starting point to me, yet is ridiculed by the car hating fraternity.

More evidence of your luck, to be in such a position. One cannot choose ones IQ level, or personality, any more than one can chooses ones parents. It's all in the luck of the draw.

I went for a drive on Saturday in rural Stirlingshire, near where I live. Between Drymen and Aberfoyle there was some sort of "official" bike race going on. Within a 8 mile stretch I came...

I don't like to judge the actions of others. "Live and let live" is my stance. We should all support each others pbuttions and aspirations.

I think on balance, indirectly. But I would qualify that with "with no exceptions".

In what way does he "contribute" to congestion? Is it his fault the road network is not adequate to satisfy the demand? In what way do you subsidise him, do you own more motor vehicles than him?

If you became ill, through no fault of your work colleague, should he subsidise your treatment?

How can you claim that, say, play groups are available "to all" whereas car parks aren't?

Who's whinging?

As I've said elsewhere in the thread, they do not pay the full commercial rate for use of roads, ranks, dedicated lanes etc.

Who's behaving antisocially? Why not provide facilities adequate for the technology? The Victorians didn't make Britain great by insisting than their steam trains run on horse and cart tracks.

On Thursday had cause to take a drive along the A92 from Halbeath area to Glenrothes. On joining at Halbeath I saw some distance in front what appeared to...

Why should motorists alone pay for essential infrastructure that everyone would benefit from. Would you insist only the sick pay for the provision of hospitals?

If it improves the environment and makes the economy more efficient in what way is that not for the public good?

What are you talking about here? Why do you need a chauffeur? Who wants to drive without respect?

What isn't?

Pardon? Have you lost the plot ? :-)

A terrier isn't a kennel.

Why do you not accept that VED is a road tax, as defined in the Cambridge Dictionary, the DVLA website etc?

Yes, the main one being if it is used on the road or not.

Why not simply admit that a tax described by the government as "road tax" is road tax?

Why do you suppose that because I question your buttertion that VED is not road tax that I would then want to argue about something completely different?
