No speed limits for curves. Speed limits are in urban areas and construction zones. And guess what, they are at or higher than the speeds I would drive them at anyway. Just like the surface streets.

No, Speed limits in Germany I found were set correctly. I would choose my natural speed and look at the speed limit sign. I would usually be at or slightly below the speed limit. This is not true with the USA's arbitary politically and revenue determined speed limit.

20% is HUGE.

Not what americans generally consider safety features. And I even saw an 80s F-body on the autobahn along with lots of old hardware like bugs and 2CVs.

Exactly what I was saying SPEED IS IRRELEVANT TO SAFETY on a limited access highway. Safety is determined by things like lane discipline.

Underposted speed limits are everywhere in the USA. The only difference between my desired speed on similiar roads in the USA and in Germany was the legality.

I'd rathe have a system where there were few crashes, instead of lots of survivable crashes. This is proven safer.

I choose not to crash at 100mph over both.

Fuel is taxed to much higher cost in Germany for many years now. Autobahn speeds continue the same creep upwards as do interstate speeds. As I recall the lines are more or less parallel with the autobahn being 20mph faster.
