Why do you make the buttumption that all athiests take those days off, or even give a poo about getting those specific days off? The issue I have is with my tax dollars being used to celebrate something I could care less about, in addition to advertising something that shouldn't be advertised by a secular government.
Please, cite one instance where an athiest group complained about working on Xmas. Not some punkbutt teenager at a grocery store unpleasant womaning to you on Xmas, but someone with a real job making a formal complaint that they deserve the day off. I take Xmas off cause I'm not expected to be there.
If my boss would trade it for a day I feel is more important, I'd be happy to do so but it would probably cause my boss more hardship than just giving me that day instead. If you're saying I should work more than an Xtian for the same pay, that's blatent religious discrimination.
As for Sundays, why should I have to work seven days a week just because I don't believe in anything? Again, you're calling for discrimination.
I don't really care what days I get off each week, but having Saturday and Sunday off is a little easier with my job, since nobody expects me to be working those days anyway. That, and I like to watch football.
