were saying : NIP - Notice of Intented Prosecution. The "You've been naughty, and we've gotcha" letter which asks you to cough as to who was driving. You don't have to...

Until the day when a little screen pops up on the back of the car telling the police who are behind the car what the occupant has done - there is no way the police can tell if the occupant is someone who forgot to renew his mot or a mbutt liquidateer.

Suppose the liquidateer of Holly and Jessica to pick a high profile case, was going down the road with those two little girls in his boot (which he did at one stage it is proven)- a cop car comes up behind him and he floors it for no apparent reason that is visible to the cop - what does the cop do? Ignore it or chase? At what point does the cop call off the chase and say that it is too dangerous?

And dont forget that what starts out with a simple stop because "You MOT ran out last week Sir", can turn into "Hmm, no insurance, £5000 worth of drugs and a gun in your glove compartment, oh. and you are wanted on warrant for suspicion of liquidate Mr. Bin Laden"

Half the problem is with sentencing which needs to be more severe and it wants to be made a minimum sentence of 5 years imprisonment for failing to stop a vehicle for a marked police car - no excuses - the sound and sight of the marked police car is there - there is every opportunity given to stop so no excuses from blind or deaf drivers (!) saying they did not see-hear. And for those who stop and then bugger off while the cop is walking to the stopped vehicle - double the 5 years to 10.
