What puddles? I think you may be overestimating the amount of flying water there is. I ride on main roads which are currently suffering from the recent heavy rain fall and I don't seem to get the spray or puddles problems you're talking about. If I see a puddle, I ride around it. Easy - and nobody seems to have a problem with me doing this, even though it's a big A road with lots of nice big lorries to play with.
Of course. People for whom presentation is an important part of their job wouldn't be able to do this. Eg TV presenters - Jon Snow, Stephanie Flanders, or politicians - certain famous examples spring to mind. Ooops - looks like it's entirely possible, and once again you're making up problems which don't exist.
Why are you so set on claiming that cycling is impossible for everybody? Do you feel some guilt about not doing so yourself, and are trying to buttuage that?
