Surely there is no difference in quality between a BMW dealer and a BMW specialist who uses BMW quality or OE parts (one example of what you don't want is the cheapest oil in your £49.99 all in service that some places do which would not be much benefit to your engine apart from keep it "wet" after 18k miles or whenever your BMW onboard computer says your service is due) A BMW dealer in Central London for example had a fixed cost If I remember correctly of around £2million - business rates,parking,congestion charge, service cars and as I mentioned before the BMW look with the leather and B&O stereos - adding these costs into the hourly BMW may in some peoples eyes add "quality" to your service I think it's just too expensive BUT make sure its a specialist (probably an ex BMW mechanic who would rather work for himself) I had a company BMW years ago and ofcourse I took it to a BMW dealer - I liked the perks (coffee,biscuits telly and yes sir-no sir , 3 bags full sir) including special electric ariel wipes "for free" which "guaranteed" good reception - it smelt of WD40 but if it was my money .......
