All BMW franchises are in fairly central locations witha fixed cost base of several hundred thousand, (anyone ever see a BMW dealer with a building more than a few years old?)you also cut out the bit I asid about the necessary bits and bobs to keep the franchise as I mentioned like the B&O TV, stereo, real coffee (even that silver post is "rather" expensive from one supplier only)
BMW dealers are however not averse to a bit of fiddling themselves
A friend bought a bran' new BMW last November - list price , when he got the V5 a few weeks later it showed he was the 2nd owner, the dealer had pre-registered the car to hit a bonus in the last days of the previous month . His car was therefore worth less and the dealer made more profit (on the reclaimed VAT) and ofcourse the bonus He complained to BMW Bracknell (Head office) - and got the promise of a free 1st service and the dealer lost his bonus and a rollicking To cap it all when he complained about the car being very unreliable (admittedly quite loudly to the Dealer Principle) - a-c not working, windows not working, paint quality , headlight fell out, rusty alloys, etc etc He smiled at my mate and was told - what do you expect from a 2nd hand car - now thats cheeek!
