My clutch cable snapped!
Just got to the end of the road where I work, and suddenly the pedal appear to vanish when I was comming to a stop. It was stop start traffic with lots of lights, so it wasn't even worth trying to drive. Fortunately there was a business park just opposite so we manage to push the car into there.
I had to get the car taken home on a recovery vehicle(break down recovery on my insurance), then me and my dad fixed it the next day. It took us 4 hrs, it was dark, and by the time we finished it's was freezing cold too.
The recovery driver fortunately wasn't too bad, I actually felt pretty safe. His positioning etc. was a bit bad at times though. He went right (last exit) on a roundabout in the left hand lane without a signal. He then signalled after the vehicle was completely over the line.
I got a lift to work from my mum the next day, which was scarey. I told her to rev it to 4,000rpm (needs running in), and I think she seemed to enjoy it. She seems to rev it to 4000rpm too often now though, and the acceleration is a bit rough.
Some of the thing she said was funny. On the first A-road (NSL) she was pleased with the HGV for putting his foot down. A this moment we were doing about 40mph, and the HGV was slowly loosing us lol. She could even keep up with an HGV. I do 60mph, and have overtaken HGV's in the past in my 899cc Sei (she has a Fiesta, which is obviously faster).
Some of the twisty country roads were scarey though. She accused me in the past of driving too fast-dangerously, but I was never like here. There was a blind bend which she appeared to be approaching far too fast, but I buttumed that maybe she had a better view than me). As we went round she slamed the brakes on, almost going into the bush, right on the point of slipping, and there was nothing there. She was going far too fast, what if something was there?
The funniest one is still to come though. On the last NSL I would normally do about 30mph when other people are around or about 40mph (faster if I had more power) if the road's empty. She went along, and went down to less than 5mph when a small stream of cars came. She said "Oh! Do you always get lots of things along here?". I could barely keep a straight face lol. Having said that though a Fiesta is a lot bigger than my car, and I certainly wouldn't drive it as fast as my Sei.
