not, What is needed is a law similar to the old phone tap law where a judge (or was it the Home sec?) had to give permission to tap a particular phone number. Should be same procedure for this before they start to track a certain reg number. Unless the people they are tracking are very stupid I do not know how this will help. If I was up to no good (I am totally law abiding I would like to add), I would continuously change the car I was driving and of course they would never be registered. So easy to have a few cars on the go and be constantly buying and selling them or nicking and dumping them if its very big time crime. Why are the authorities so unimaginative? The only way to track a person is to follow them. I suppose it can work if the person is unaware the authorities are on to them and therefore not trying to give them the slip, but apart from that, I cannot see it helping. I bet the police will love it though. They are like a bunch of kids wanting new toys for Christmas. I remember the feeling well, when I used to watch Thundbirds as a kid. I so much wanted all those toys they had on Tracy Island, but I grew up. bucket
