Plan put forth to give bridge chief 6.4% pay rise
THE man in charge of the Forth Road Bridge is on course to receive a 6.4 per cent pay rise.
Alastair Andrew, general manager of the Forth Estuary Transport Authority (Feta), will see his salary climb from £89,776 to £95,535-a-year if board members approve the proposals.

A new report to be discussed at the next Feta meeting, on February 24, recommends breaking the existing salary link between the chief executive of Edinburgh Council and the Feta head - which currently sees Mr Andrew earn 62.5 per cent of what the Capital's top official earns.
Feta's depute general manager, Barry Colford, will also see his salary rise from £71,821 to £75,802 under the plans.
Meanwhile, the National Alliance Against Tolls - which wants charges scrapped for crossing the bridge - said voters in Dunfermline and West Fife have backed the party "keenest to increase tolls".
