In addition to Insurance companies wanting to charge us for each mile using black boxes, it seems that we could all be forced to have them before too long.
The "I'VE GOT NOTHING TO HIDE" contingent will no doubt be delighted that they are being tracked, if only because it gives them a feeling that somebody cares. But.... what if the government shortly after their introduction insists you have to insert your I.D card into the black box.. How would you then feel?
What if someone places a biological device in the Houses of Parliament and wipes out the government and opposition and military rule steps in, how safe would you feel then if your every move was being tracked?
Serious crime will increase following such a system being used. All the robber has to do is pluck an elderly frail person out of bed in the middle of the night, throw them in their own car, and then they can drive around carefree undetected.
I see no future in a society that wants to spend billions on crime avoidance technology but only small amounts to prevent people becoming criminals.
As someone said on Any Questions the other day. If there's a debate on concerns the welfare of children - nobody shows up!
Children ARE our future.
