Blind Spot Mirrors

Taking of blind... I've been meaning to start a thread about blind spot mirrors for a while. I never hear much talk about them, but on my car (Sierra) it has a terrible blind spot where a car overtaking me on motorway totally disappears for a few moments. This happens from the point its bumper pbuttes my rear wheel arch to the point it pbuttes the B post. I would need to turn my head over 90 degrees to see it at this point. My van doesn't have this blind spot, but does have the usual blind spot on the near side pbuttenger door area. Apart from that and zero rear vision, the mirrors are terrific on motorway and a million times better than any car. This due, no doubt to the large bus like mirrors on D arms and the high up position (old WV LT35). You can see right across lane 2 and 3 even with vehicles nearly in line with me and at same time way into the ditance behind. My car doesn't give anything like that no matter how I adjust all the mirrors. Some websites say you can remove the blind spot by correct adjustment of all four mirrors, but I have never been able to make that work as well as a blind spot mirror fitted to each door mirror.

Be interesting to hear thoughts and experience with this sort of problem.
