Right to keep and bear arms. We own ourselves, our bodies, we can ingest or inhale whatever we choose to.
However, some people think they should control what other people put into their bodies and think that restricting all citizens somehow will stop criminals. Both activities are futile and only lead to the errosion of our basic liberty and expansion of the power of government along with police powers.
Because trade in illegal substances is well, illegal it also creates violence and other problems because standard civilized free-market compebreastion doesn't have to be followed. It's a wonderful little feedback loop where by government can continually tighten clamps on the population. Even to the point where there is a persumption of guilt and penalties imposed without trial. (taking of cash and property unless through a lengthy court process it can be proven not to have come from drug profits)
I realize from experience that's too deep for you to digest, you just do as your masters say.
Brent's going to love this... 3741That, reportedly, 20% of the cars on the road up there are doing the same thing... The 2nd amendment says he ought to be able to do that...
Firearm Owners IDentification Card.
I am sure after thousands of dollars of lawyers' fees the citizen will get the charges dismissed if he sent the renewal by certified mail or by some other means by which it's receipt could be tracked. Otherwise, my guess in typical Illinois fashion it's simply not their problem that a government agency didn't get the job done. Just maybe if the citizen's renewal app with envelope can be found before his court date the post mark might get him off too.... law is the law, obey the law, you can't own a firearm without a valid FOID card, right jaybird?
Brent's going to love this... 3742The founders clearly did not intend to limit arms to be limited by government order, nor for government to control the "militia". "The right to bear arms is...
Really jaybird, you pull someone over with an expired FOID card and he has a weapon properly secured in the trunk of his sedan in a locked box with the ammo elsewhere. Are you going to believe he sent in his renewal 45 days ago and hasn't heard back? Of course not. You arrest him. the law is the law.
