Why do morons insist that I always go back to the begining. Government is interested in LOGGING everyone's activities. That data will be mined when and if it's needed. For instance, a citizen becomes politically active, the data will be mined for something to ruin him. Perhaps that person runs for office, the person currently in office mines the data for something useful against the newcommer. I've been over this already.

That's nice, but my arguement still stands. Socialism becomes a justification to micromanage everybody's life. Of course some people want others to tell them what to do, how to live, etc.
Well I am telling you what is done here. And it's about an end run around the bill of rights to justify police state style checkpoints.

You seem to be all for them having ever reaching power.
I understand the police state controlled everything, protected the citizens, kept crime to a minimum, etc and so forth. Sure some liberty was lost, but look at the benefits. They did everything you seem to be telling us. Plus, they had socialized medicine!
Using that logic there is no right to travel or buttemble by any means.
One can do considerable damage with a horse. A horse and wagon is probably more dangerous than a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle doesn't have a mind of it's own, but a horse does. You've just disproven your own arguement that licensing is to keep people safe.
Exactly, the manditory insurance law does nothing to protect me against that. Absoultely nothing at all. Yet you are telling me it's for my protection? It doesn't do anything to protect me, it helps the bottom line of insurance companies and the elected officals to whom they have purchased but does nothing for me.
They do in the US of A. And probably anywhere else in the world where they can make a profit. I vaguely remember reading similiar tales of the MOT in the UK
