No one is saying you have to walk or build your own car, Dave. What I'm saying is:
* Just because you had some bad experiences doesn't mean they're all bad. They may have greed-based customer service skills, but they aren't all rip-off artists like you allege. That's not fair--some dealers want to treat their customers well because they want their return business.
* You did do some preparation, but (and I'm being constructively critical here, not personal) there was more info available to you that you missed. Next time you buy a new car, you can be a lot better prepared. There's been some excellent advice offered here of which you could take advantage at no charge. We had to buy the books or learn from trial and error--you can wax fat off our sweat :)
Buying a new car 1780I CASH. Very bad move. Dealers hate cash buyers. Not only does it mean that they've lost...
Some areas around the country have just a few dealers, and unless you want to drive a hundred miles away you have to deal with them. In those cases your options are limited. That said, you could still stay out of that 80% of the buyers who provide 80% of the profits. You want a new car and you want to save money; we're showing you how to do it.
