This article does not add up and is severely lacking in information, but.

Some facts from the article and what they might mean:

1) It was a dual carrigeway 2) One vehicle was able to overtake, so it's at least two lanes in the direction of the accident 3) The first vehicle overtaking hit the bloke 4) The vehicle being overtaken was close enough to see something come off the shogun, but did not hit the victim himself. 5) He was hit from behind

From this I conclude that he was peeed up and walking the wrong way (for pedestrians) down the centre line of a two lane dual carrigeway.

6) If he was out on the pee, it is fairly likely that at least the bottom half of his clothing was black 7) Two people have said they thought the body was a black binbag.

So, man wears all black, walks down the centre line of a 70mph dual carriageway facing away from traffic and manages to Darwinate himself.

I have nearly been in a similar situation on the A14 about 9 at night in the middle of winter so pitch black, unlit of course. He was walking just to the right of the left-most end of carriagway marker and wearing all black and if it had not been for the little tiny reflective bits on the back of his trainers I would not have seen him until it was too late. Swerved out into the other lane confusing the guy behind me who must have then come even closer to hitting the guy than I did! I had to stop at the next layby to calm my nerves. Unfortunately I didn't have a phone on me to call the police.

You just don't expect to find people there and I honestly don't know what I would do if I had hit him. You people are quick to condemn but have any of you ever end someone, do you really expect a person to behave sanely and rationally after that. One person stated that his pbuttengers were hysterical and they wern't even responsible. This kind of thing can f*** someone up for life.

The first two did not know they had hit a human being, the third one tried to help but had quite clearly lost it and couldn't deal with the situation so decided to flee (fight or flight reaction) and the fourth managed to do the correct thing.

The spin on that article is quite sickening.
