I think from your description that you're actually talking about the stretch from the M3 when it becomes the A316 but before it hits the first roundabout - Hospital Bridge, at Whitton-Twickenham.

There are a couple of sets of lines, but AFAIK only one camera - that's opposite the petrol station when the road is 3 lanes but one of those lanes has just become the sliproad going down to Apex corner (the one with Wickes on it, think it's the junction with the A312).

When the M3 becomes the 316 it goes up onto a flyover and there is a layby. The set of lines there were from some roadworks a couple of years ago - there is no camera there, and at that point the limit is still 70. There may be another set, legacy of the same roadworks, just after the 50 limit comes into force, I can't remember.

you then go past the water treatment works, and dairy crest depot, and down past the camera - this should be buttumed active. My SIL got a ticket a couple of years ago from one of the cameras on the 316, it could have been this one. If you keep on the 316 past apex corner it becomes 2 lanes again, and there is a nice shiny new set of lines painted in the 40 section on the long run down to the Hospital Bridge roundabout. There is no camera here, I buttume there was a plan to put one there, because IIRC there is a mount for something.

After that, there be cameras (at least 5 of them before you get to Hogarth roundabout). The limit is 40.
