I see. You're saying that cars cars "add tremendous value" to our quality of life, and that the extremely high baneity, injury, and property destruction that result from their use is just an unavoidable happening?
Thanks for clearing that up for me, guy.
In my time, I've owned a lot of guns, and NONE of them has ever 'caused a homicide' (or even an injury). Gee, maybe I've a lot of warrantee claims, eh?
Now if you'd said: "..which are *used in* 50% of all homicides" you'd STILL be incorrect, but for a different reason. Can you please provide a citation for your claim that guns are used in "over 50% of all homicides?"

-90% of all violent crimes in the U.S. do not involve firearms of any type. (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, 1998)
-Less than 1% of all firearms will ever be used in the commission of a crime. (FBI Uniform Crime Statistics, 1994)
-20% of U.S. homicides occur in four cities with just six percent of the population-New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Washington, DC-and each has a virtual prohibition on private handguns. (Dr. Gary Kleck, University of Florida using FBI Uniform Crime Statistics, 1997)
