Caution: Driver doesn't give a poo 3824

One of the predictable effects is that forests will die. Most climate changes are slow enough that as the trees die off at one end because the climate becomes inhospitable, they start growing more at the other end as it gets nicer. As long as the climatic zone that a species of trees likes doesn't move faster than the trees can spread by normal seed transport and regrowth, all is fine. But if it's faster, that's it for the forest. And this sort of thing, one it's gone, it's gone for ever.

Computer climate models suggest that there will not just be a uniform change in temperature, but large changes in atmospheric circulation patterns. The result will be regional changes in temperature, wind, and rainfall patterns. Any given areas could become colder, hotter, drier, or wetter ... and such changes aren't always considered good for food-producing areas. This sort of change will cause economic disruptions far beyond what Kyoto or something more effective will.

But some people just don't give a poo. They don't care whose house burns down -- as long as their hands are warm.
