Clbuttic manouevre

As I was approaching a town centre parking bay today, I saw an amazing thing...

It's one of those bays where cars slot in at a diagonal to the road, which is two way with narrowish lanes . An old biddy reversed out suddenly, taking up both lanes, with not really enough space to do it. Cars coming both ways (me and another) had to brake sharply.

Then she put her seatbelt on. Slowly. OK, not so bad, you're allowed IIRC not to wear it while reversing.

But then.. she went a foot forward, then stopped again.

Seatbelt off. Out of the car (still blocking traffic). Slowly. (She wasn't slow walking round later on, just not in any oparticular hurry, thank you *very* much...) Round to the boot. Back to the front to get the keys. Back to the boot.

Opens the boot, gets handbag out. Spends about 45 seconds searching in her handbag for what turns out to be her driving glbuttes. Handbag away, boot shut. Peers at cars waiting both ways. Road totally blocked. Shuffles back to get in the car.

Now she starts the car, decides she can't turn sharply enough, reverses again. Seatbelt off, reverse, seatbelt on, forward a little. Not all the way though. Seatbelt off again.

It's an easy turn to straighten up and drive off, but no. She doesn't actually turn the wheels noticeably, just forward and backwards. Once or twice she manages to get the wheels to turn a little in the right direction. Once she gets them to turn in totally the wrong direction.

After a few goes, finally she manages to get round and straighten out. She drives off, then does an emergency stop. Puts seatbelt on...

Both lanes are now blocked as far as the eye can see. Due to traffic queued by parked cars she can only go about 50 yards before having to stop.

So she hooted!!!!

I fell off my seat.
