Probably something that crops up a lot but I've just read pages and pages of the DVLA site and also Google archives from here and not really found a clear answer to my problem.
I'm collecting a used car at the weekend and the tax ran out at the end of April. Problem is it will be late Saturday or anywhen Sunday, you can probably see where I am going with this but obviously taxing it is going to be impossible (I'm not able to collect it during the week due to work) due to the PO being shut.Insurance is sorted and the cover note should be here in the next few days and MOT isn't needed yet so I will have all the docs necessary to tax it first thing on the Monday morning.
I realise technically I must have a valid tax disc displayed unless I'm travelling to or from a pre-arranged MOT etc, with that in mind is there anything at all I can do to actually collect the thing considering I only really have a Sunday to do it? Its a reasonable distance from where I live so its not a risk I want to take.
