BULLpoo. Why is that that on many roads the speed limits were higher 30 years ago than they are now? In the mean time car technology has come a long way. So the limits should in reality be higher than they were 30 years ago.

That's the way that has been proven to be the most efficient and safe way to set a limit.

That's not the way to properly set the limit. You set the limit for the road under ideal conditions. It is then up to the driver to adjust their speed for road conditions. Due to improperly set speed limits, many drivers have lost this ability to judge when to go slower. The improperly set limits are now interpreted as suggested travel speed. That causes a very dangerous situation.

More problems are caused by improrper lane usage. Too many idiots think that because they are going the speed limit it is ok for them to be a rolling road block on the road.

Not just higher limits, but properly set limits. Research has shown that if properly set, most people obey the limits. That so many people are not obeying the limits is proof that they are improperly set.

Again, research proves you wrong.

You got that part right. Most people will drive at the speed that they feel comfortable at no matter what the stupid signs say. That is exactly what you see on the road every day.

By allowing imporperly set limits to continue, that is exactly what they are doing. They are allowing a dangerous condition to continue on the road.

How old are you that you think that you can't make a decision without someone who "knows more than you" telling you what to do?
