Stupid US punishment mentality. Here's what I can "get away with" on chicago area interstates much of the time:- (that's no speed limit, infinity, as fast as my car can go). There isn't enough enforcement to even worry about it most of the time, and I know when I have to worry about it. Yet, I drive significantly slower than I would drive on rural -autobahn.
Conflict of Interest 3179In another post you refer to how adding the word "on" to "police patrol" changes the meaning. Well here you words, and what they really mean, are incongruous. If I am driving down...
Wonder why that is?
And you'll continue to see it until the speed limits are at the 85th percentile.
BTW, the US interstate 85th percentile speed for the last year I have data for is 78mph, which may still be pretty accurate as the 85th percentile of free flowing chicago interstate seems to be around 78-80mph.
Like I said, our interstates are effectively-much of the time. Too many people for the cops to revenue everyone and not enough of them to run speed traps all the time. People drive the speeds they are comfortable with. The chaos that the 55mph limit causes is still there, it doesn't take many vehicles to screw up flow. (like the cop last night, man you should have seen the huge clump behind him)
