Conflict of Interest 3183

What will happen is exactly what I SAID will happen. When cops are around, drivers think about cops and speeding tickets and such and act accordingly. Drivers resume normal speed when cops aren't around. It has nothing to do with thinking "Whew, I can get away with speeding now, so I'm going to speed up". As the needle creeps up past 55 to 65 or 75 or 85, the driver is NOT thinking "yeah, I can probably get away with this". More likely, the driver is thinking . . . - What am I going to have for dinner tonight? - That new receptionist at work is HOT!!!!! - Fricking left lane hogs!!! - I hope my wife gets that promotion soon - When are those fricking books I ordered going to finally arrive? - (or one of trillions of other random thoughts that have nothing at all to do with cops)

You need to not be so full of yourself, jaybird. You are buttUMING that all drivers are thinking about YOU (and your buddies) the entire time that they are behind the wheel. Almost the exact opposite is true, though. Drivers only think of YOU when you are in plain sight. Other than that, you do NOT influence the way people drive, at all. -Dave

under that studies. Brent, several California highways-interstates are supposedly under strict speed enforcement, and the drivers still do 80+ during non-rush hour traffic...
