You have shown you aren't that stupid, so I buttume you are being deliberately ignorant.
The issue isn't whether one can find and enforce violations after a stop.
Cops on fishing expeditions 2901I think this will end up being one of the harder issues for us to come to a common ground on. There are a couple of issues with this and I can see...
The issue is whether a stop can occur with the intent of finding a violation.
The point is not subtle. If you as a cop decide to pull over someone because they violated the law, and find some more serious violation that causes you to ignore the original, fine. But when you ignore the original because you never intended to enforce it, only to use it as a fishing expedition for more serious crimes, you are violating our consbreastution. You (cops) tend to do this in poorer neighborhoods, because that is where more crime is, and you ignore the violation of their rights because you are performing "a greater good". Well the greater good is a fallacy when you are harming 90% of those you come in contact with.
Personally I can't stand all the little gang bangers and GB wannabees. There are lots of minorities that pee me off with their actions and behavior. Yet, that is nothing compared to how I feel when cops violate their rights, because I am the one who suffers when they decide to take it out on whitey.
