3-10 for running costs? That's nonsense! They are as cheap as chips! I'd say 8 or 9 out of 10 for costs, but 3 overall because or poor build, bad dealer, terrible performance, poor safety-security levels etc etc...

I'd agree the suspension is firm, but the anti-roll is non-existent. This means that you get all the clunking over potholes, but none of the cornering ability that a firm setup usually gives. An amazing, almost impossible, chicken-up which I've only ever experienced on the Cinq, Sei and Punto. Well done Fiat, you muppets! :)

Graeme Fraser supprised handles may agree chips! build, etc... Yeah, I agree that the running costs are nonsense, but I think the deserve...

The brakes on the Sei are not bad, but with front-heavyness and the suspension 'dive' under braking the fronts get overloaded easily. The rears suffer from a poor handbrake design, but overall the drums aren't bad. I reckon less 'dive' would even up the workload and improve things a bit, hence my desire for a stiffer setup.

Regardless, I love my little (ok, her) little yellow Sporting. I prefer comuting in it over the Lotus, as it is quiet, has a heater, CD player and leccy windows, and it runs for miiiiles on a 25 quid fill-up!

What's more, I bought ours 2nd hand with 36k on the clock for just £1500. Mint, including FSH and a £300 alarm and £150 CD player.

Budget motoring at its finest!

Graeme

I'm not sure if the Sporting has an ARB - I've never looked, but it's pretty ineffective if it is there. I used to have a Cinq SX, and I...
