You hear lots of things, but no experience. How come aren't British people complaining here? Some of us have actual experience with the NHS in the UK and, although not great, it works much better than what you hear about it in the US.
Sure, People who can afgford do come to the US and pay for first rate healt care. But you don't think that Canadians, no matter how rich, routinely get their health care in the US, do you? They might come for specific high tech stuff.

That is if there's an ER nearby. The rate of closures of ER's in the US is astounding. The root cause is their (necessary) abuse but uninsured (or under-insured) people. The remedy is self-evident.
Except that the largest emploter in the US does not have such a system. And there are plenty of people employed with sub-standard health insurance. Not all health insurance covers the same and to the same degree.
So, not using our baraining power, or rather making it illegal to do so, to get cheaper drugs is upholding free markets now? Hint: monopolies and cartels anre not free markets.
