Cruise Control dangerous 5261

Uno Hoo! I use mine a huge amount on the motorway and also in some 40 , 50 and 60 mph limits where I know there are cameras as it makes keeping a constant speed much easier.

Yes , many UK motorways are so busy as to render it pointless at rush hour but outside peak hours they soon free up. My "record" for using cruise and not needing to disengage it was a few weeks ago when I got on the M6 at J33 (preston) and aside from one short patch of roadworks near the start with a 40 mph limit I didn't deviate from my indicated 79 mph until I turned off at J10? (Wednesbury). Traffic was light as it was a saturday evening and I could always move over to pbutt slower cars and then return to L1 without slowing or cutting up cars travelling faster than me.

I can quite easily see how it would encourage some drivers to pay less attention than they should making them slightly more dangerous , but I see nothing that could justify outlawing it as bad drivers will allways find a way to be dangerous.

I am well aware that it was my fault that I also didn't then adjust to the fact that there was cruise control and apply the brake to...

Hermes: "We can't afford that! Especially not Zoidberg!" Zoidberg: "They took away my credit cards!"
