Cruise control on a manual car 89

Many thanks for the replies - most interesting I must say.

and the BBC have got the box junction answer wrong - "You're driving in a town and you come to a box junction, with criss-cross...

The reason for asking is that my next car is to be a manual (I like the control of the manual) but on the journeys that I do make on the Mway or long A roads (and in foreign countries too) I would like to know that, providing the road is clear I can put the CC on and not worry about the 60-80-60 syndrome. This is especcially true on roads that I may never have been on before or in the dark when gradients for example may not be so obvious for a newbie compared to a "local"

I do keep my eyes peeled but sometimes the speed can creep up ;)

OK, heres a more specific question

Some lorry drivers want their heads testing: 92
Alistair J Murray SimonJ If you're not overtaking him, with a likely 14-20mph differential, you should not be to his right. Well I've...

Mate has just bought a ford Mondeo (06) Ghia X auto and i was looking through his manual to find out about cc and in there it mentioned that when going downhill the car may pick up speed (over the cc limit) and suggested gear changing to bring the speed down. He has so far been unable to test this properly yet but does anyone have any experience of this. He also mentioned on his previous Honda that when it was set to a speed he could feel the throttle and brake being physically moved so as to apply and maintain the CC limit but on the Mondeo he does not notice this. Any thoughts?

Finally - as my next car is to be a manual should I make the effort of ensuring it has CC ?

I must admit it is something I would like to try and would prob kick myself if i dont get it! Guess i have answered my own question;)

Many thanks again
