The worst was staying at a Sheraton when some high school kids decided to throw a graduation party on my floor.
After 3 calls to the front desk, I told them my next call would be to the cops. I still gave the front desk 2 more attempts before attempting to call, only to learn that I mysteriously didn't have local phone service.
Did the guy think I didn't have a cell phone? 10 minutes later, the cops showed up and after a few brief moments of kids running down the hallways like bats out of hell, and a few others being calmly escorted out of there, the party was over.
Anyway, one of those "extended stay" things should be good incentive for me to find my own housing. The phone interview today was like none I had ever had - 30-40 minutes of rapid-fire technical questions.
I guess I did okay since I'm flying up there next week.
yeah - I've been in those before. It really sucked hearing my neighbors flush their toilet while I'm in the living room watching TV or trying to sleep in the bedroom.

I don't know if it's a result of building codes here or what, but these are fairly new and are built quite solidly.
Well, I had some neighbors downstairs for a while who liked to play music loudly.
I left a polite note on their door - their reaction. Crank the tunes really loud when they got home while they went outside so they could talk on their cell phone.
That's not really a smart thing to do to your upstairs neighbor.
In all the time I've lived here, the only other neighbor I ever complained to was on the opposite side of my bedroom and I think I scared the hell out of him when I banged on his door and told him to turn down his TV. I haven't heard a peep out of him since.
