I was the one who brought up this butthole in the first place, and while I still believe he is an butthole, I do NOT believe he deserves to have his tires slashed.

Slashing his tires would result in several hundred dollars worth of material damage, not to mention the hbuttle of having to get them replaced.
I believe in making the punishment fit the crime and I was merely inconvenienced by his behavior.
Slashing his tires would be going way too fair in terms of retaliation. Even "dropping a box of nails" would be going to far, and I never actually planned to follow through with that when I suggested I might do that when I move.
If someone slashed your tires for no apparent reason, what would your reaction be? To give him the rest penalty?
If someone lets the door shut when you're trying to walk in a building 5 feet behind them, do you draw a gun on them and shoot them?

No matter how much of an butthole I think he is, the worst I will do and I also feel the worst he deserves is to be unpleasant womaned out, but at the very worst I will leave a note under the windshield wiper of his truck, and I probably won't even do that.
Can you imagine if everyone reacted so harshly as you suggest to anything that peeed them off?
