Dangerous Roads" 1071It isn't phrased in such a manner. You are basing your argument on the buttumption that "the junction is dangerous...
They are not side issues. There was never any disagreement about accepting responsibility.
To return to the *original* disagreement :
Brimstone : Sadly, until everyone who drives is willing to accept responsibility for their own actions (rather than blame it on being "an accident" or a "dangerous road", "dangerous junction", "dangerous car" or whatever) and be willing to improve their levels of competence then the current situation will prevail unfortunately.
Chris Bartram : I don't 100% go with that: there are dangerous junctions, and an accident is an accident (ie: not on purpose). However, the most dangerous junction (or whatever) is safe if treated properly by a competent driver. I think there's a general problem with accepting responsibility for actions. Everyone does look for someone-something else to blame: you're 100% right there.
Mark Foster : Nope. There is no such thing as a dangerous road. It is entirely dependant on how it is negotiated.
No-one, as far as I know, has EVER disagreed with the statement that drivers should accept responsibility for their actions.
All the disagreement is with Mark's bald statement that "there is no such thing as a dangerous road". --
