Dangerous driving reported

Last time I used 999 was to report dangerous driving which could have been due to driink-drugs. On cornering the car was hitting the verge then over correcting and veering across the centre markings then over correcting and hitting the verge etc.

Indeed, previously we had the 0845 0454545 police non emergency number which is part of the reason Hampshire was selected for the pilot of the Single Non-Emergency Number Project (SNEN). I believe that calls to this number were handled by the same emergency operation room as the 999 calls but were given less priority.

The SNEN is also intended to forward calls to local authorities for reporting things such as damage to street furniture, fly tipping etc.

Use your common sense. Neither me or the op could be prosecuted for misuse.

"5. SNEN does include within its scope some incident types which should still be reported using the 999 number when offenders are nearby, life is at risk, injury is caused or threatened or crime-disorder are in progress. For example if there is information on drug dealing having taken place (and the offenders are not currently in that activity), this is most appropriate for the SNEN where partnership activity can be focused on resolution. If the incident is taking place and the offenders are nearby then a 999 call would be appropriate."
