Diesels 5114

like they were saying :

I moved a diseasel 75 around the workshop yard a couple of times the other day. 50k on it. We'll ignore the fact you could drive it as if it was an auto, even though it wasn't, because the clutch was so completely f***ed. We'll ignore the *disgustingly* marked interior - that beigey cloth and plastic showed EVERYTHING. We'll even ignore the fact that a worn front bush meant replacing an entire HUGE lower suspension arm.

I've never ever ever driven a car with such utterly pathetic and useless door mirrors.

Adrian Mine ate three clutches in 80k miles - something to do with the master cylinder causing it not to engage...

I've always quite fancied a 75, ever since they first came out. No more.

And what the hell drugs were they taking when they designed that fuel cooler? On the OSR lower suspension arm, there's a plastic aerofoil, which ducts air through a little fuel-oil-cooler hanging limply on a couple of brackets under the boot floor, just behind the suspension arm. Amazingly, it hadn't been damaged at all, and wasn't clagged beyond all hope. It really looked a total afterthought, though.

Oh, and having been under one, there's no doubt whatsoever that it's an RWD pan under there - I apologise for ever doubting it. That tunnel is HUGE - the exhaust is lost in it.

The BMW propellor and lettering moulded into the plugs for the locking wheelnuts was amusing, too.
